Week 9 NFL Picks
Last Week: 9-4
Season Record: 78-38 (67%)
HOME TEAMS IN CAPS
ATLANTA FALCONS 27, Washington Redskins 16
-Look for the Redskins to undergo a complete overhaul after the season...Atlanta needs the win badly and will cruise to an easy victory at home.
CHICAGO BEARS 26, Arizona Cardinals 23
-The toughest pick of the week for me...this game very well could go either way considering how well Arizona has played on the road this season...but I'll take Jay Cutler at the Bears on a last second field goal.
Baltimore Ravens 21, CINCINNATI BENGALS 17
-The Ravens exact revenge for losing at home to Cincinnati a month ago...this should be an entertaining affair.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 30, Houston Texans 17
-The Texans have been playing well of late, but the Colts are bound to go into the New England game next week undefeated...which they will.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 27, Miami Dolphins 20
-Hopefully the Patriots have learned how to stop the Dolphins' "Wildcat" offense...last year's matchup in Foxboro was a complete embarrassment for the Patriots.
Green Bay Packers 23, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 6
-The Packers just love beating up on bad teams...Tampa Bay is the NFL's last hope at a winless team in 2009.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 31, Kansas City Chiefs 17
-It might be a better idea for Jacksonville to get the ball to star running back Maurice Jones-Drew sometime before the 2nd quarter. Last week's gameplan against Tennessee was absolutely brutal...don't expect a repeat against a poor Kansas City defense this week.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS 34, Carolina Panthers 24
-It sure is shaping up like Saints-Vikings for the NFC Championship...don't you think? The way the Saints defense is playing so far this season...it's going to be tough for anyone to beat them.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 31, Detroit Lions 13
-Matt Hasselbeck and crew have a field day against a very poor Detroit secondary...unless you're a fan of either team or have fantasy football interests, don't bother watching this one.
NEW YORK GIANTS 27, San Diego Chargers 24
-The Giants have been in a tailspin and need a win here to maintain their playoff aspirations...look for a late Lawrence Tynes field goal to be the difference.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 24, Tennessee Titans 20
-The battle of top 3 overall draft pick bust QBs (thus far), Vince Young and Alex Smith. For now I'll stick with the 49ers who should have a chance to gain a game on the Cardinals in the NFC West race.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES 30, Dallas Cowboys 20
-The Eagles seem to have the Cowboys' number in Philly...and specifically Tony Romo's number. Look for a rough Sunday night performance from the Cowboys QB.
Pittsburgh Steelers 24, DENVER BRONCOS 23
-Has the Broncos' magic disappeared? Steelers kicker Jeff Reed breaks Denver's heart as the clock runs out in another great Monday night affair.
- BONUS PICK: Give me the Phillies tonight and tomorrow night to stun the Yankees and win their second consecutive World Series!
